Almir, creator and author on Loot Cabin

Hi, I’m Almir, and I’m glad you stopped by! 🙂

I’m 31 years old, and gaming has always been a big part of my life. I still remember holding my first controller when I was just 3 years old, playing tank battles, Super Mario, and other awesome games on my good old SEGA console. And yes, I still remember blowing into those yellow cartridges to get the dust out like it was yesterday—if you’re old enough, I’m sure you do too.

When I got a bit older, my dad, who spent most of his life driving trucks, surprised me one day. He brought home my very own PlayStation 1 from Italy, along with my first two games: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and Tekken 3. Those were good times.

Money was tight, but somehow my dad always found ways to make things special. Even when we couldn’t afford new games, we bought second-hand ones and even “burnt” games onto CDs with Nero—if you know, you know.

When GTA San Andreas came out, I was in the 3rd grade. Somehow, despite tough times, my dad bought me a PS2, and gaming got even better. A couple of years later, my parents got me my first PC. It wasn’t exactly built for gaming—just an old IBM machine—but it could barely run Counter Strike 1.6 and Silkroad Online, which was good enough for me.

Through the years, whenever I could, I upgraded my PC to play League of Legends and other games. After finishing high school, I moved abroad for college. While studying Tourism, I got myself a PS3, then a gaming laptop (bad idea, I know!). When I graduated, my dad surprised me again with a PS4 as his way of saying, “Well done, son, proud of you.”

A couple more years went by, and I finally bought a powerful gaming PC. I played with friends, joined Discord communities, and that’s even how I met my now-wife. After some time in a long-distance relationship, we moved in together, and I built the beast of a gaming PC I have today.

Now, there is a reason why I created this page…

The mission

I used to love visiting gaming websites like IGN and Gamespot for gaming news and reviews. But recently, I’ve noticed something sad: many of these big gaming websites have started pushing personal agendas, politics, and biases instead of focusing purely on gaming.

I miss the old days when gamers wrote for gamers. I won’t name any names, but if you’re here, you probably know exactly what I mean. That’s why LootCabin exists.

I’m not famous. I don’t have a huge following or media presence. I’m just an everyday gamer, both competitive and casual, just like you. My goal with LootCabin is simple: to provide straightforward, honest information about games and everything gaming-related from one gamer to another.

The motto at LootCabin is clear: “From one gamer to another.”

No personal agendas, no biases, no unnecessary politics—just real gaming talk.

Thanks for being here, and I hope you stick around!
